FaMo of the Week - David Archuleta
Isn't neat how you can add Mo to anything and it becomes Mormon? Click here if you don't believe me. As an added bonus, you can combine it with other words to make a meaningful single word that describes two things. TomKat, Brangelina, Bennifer...and NOW Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia (the hottest ones on Heroes) are known as "Halo." So, in light of this pop culture fad, I have created a "Famous Mormon of the Week" post that I will fondly refer to as "FaMo of the Week." FaMo because it saves on typing those pesky extra "mous" and "rmons" every time, and also because I want to look cool. So without further ado, here is the FaMo of the Week.
David Archuleta
Why he’s famous: He’s in the top 9 of the current American Idol Season 7.
Why he’s awesome: Well, he can sing. Big time. Simon predicted he would be in the top two, and many have suggested that he’ll actually win. At the tender age of 6 he was inspired by Les Miserables to start singing. After some practice he went on to win Star Search at 12 and appeared on several news and talk shows. Before his Idol tryout he was living in Murray, UT and going to high school! Yep, he’s only 17. While his Mormon background hasn't been as showcased as the other LDS contestant Brooke White, various LDS sites have confirmed that he is a member. He is of Honduran and Basque decent, to which he partially credits his love for music. He's also pretty cute. Some have started various rumor mills including the fact that he might be gay. Who knows? But he has stated that he has a girlfriend (lucky!) and is dissapointed he might miss out on prom. Good Luck David! To watch videos and see more on David, click here.

Ugh... please don't spread that rumour. David doesn't have a girlfriend. That was his best friend in the audience.

You shouldn't spread that the girl that was in the audience is his girlfriend. They are most likely just good friends. Be careful what you print on what someone says. He may want to go to the Junior Prom, but that doesn't mean he and the girl are serious in the context that you printed.
